DUER Business Casual Jeans: A Review

I tried “The World’s Most Comfortable Pants” and rated its look, fit, and comfort.

When it comes to finding the perfect pair of business casual pants, comfort and style are equally important. Enter Du/er, a cult-favourite, Canadian brand that calls its pants "The World's Most Comfortable Pants." I decided to put their Smart Stretch Pant Slim to the test. Here's my honest review.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Look: 9/10

Where the Smart Stretch Pant shines is in its appearance. The slim fit gives length to the body, and the pants, in general, are well made with quality material. The Charcoal Heather colour is perfect for work and a night out. I also appreciate the attention to detail. The pants come with a zipper on the side pocket, a small but useful feature for securing items like keys or a phone.

Fit: 6.5/10

Du/er lost the most marks here for the material of the pants. While the fabric is stretchy and comfortable even when sitting, the material is stiff and thick. For reference, this pair is a size 33” waist and 32” length. The length and width of the leg fit well but the waist and crotch fit big.

Comfort: 7/10

The Smart Stretch Pant Slim, specifically, are meant to look like a dress pant but feel comfortable enough to wear all day. They do, in fact, feel better than a normal dress pant. They are stretchy and it feels comfortable both sitting and walking around. Because of the thick material, however, I can imagine these getting very uncomfortable after a long summer day.

While they may not quite live up to their claim of being "The World's Most Comfortable Pants," the Du/er Smart Stretch Pant Slim in Charcoal Heather is a solid addition to any business casual wardrobe. At a price point of ~$150 CAD, they’re a reliable choice - the initial stiffness and potential heat retention in warm weather are drawbacks to consider, but the quality and style mean they won’t break down or go out of style anytime soon.
